    Rakeback Poker Rooms

Posted in Poker Rakeback on October 2nd, 2008

The rakeback of poker rooms is more focal in some kinds of games. Let me give this hypothetical (but very realistic) scenario: rake is 5% and capped at just 3 dollars. Therefore, a pot of one thousand dollars is not going to be affected - the maximum rake figure would still be 3 dollars. Sparing you all the mathematics, if the pot is more than $60, rake would go down. What results is that in low-limit games, the rake bears heavily. If it is a big-stakes table, for a 2,000-dollar pot, the rake would not even equalize one percent of the whole. The rakeback thus cannot be disregarded or totally scoffed at; if the rakeback deal is 50%, the player would enjoy mitigating the scary advantage of the house. The player would not shell out five percent, but just about 2.5. If you are a veteran poker player, then you would agree with me that this is a substantial difference.
